Day Three Lake Ontario

Toronto Subway

Day Three started off with an early breakfast and a subway ride South to the Hockey Hall of Fame. We found that taking the subway was much easier and faster than trying to drive in Toronto. An All-Day Pass for $10 each was well worth it.

Our first stop was the Hockey Hall of Fame on Yonge Street. It was a must see for me on this trip. Inside, we were able to see all of the treasures and artifacts that make hockey such a great sport.

Next, we took the subway North to the Royal Ontario Museum. With a limited amount of time for this visit, we tried to make the most of the museum. The main attraction for us was The Warrior Emperor and China's Terracotta Army. They were built for Qin Shi Huang, depicting his armies. They are dated to 210 B.C.  We then visited the lower level of the ROM, taking in the Sigmund Samuel Gallery of Canada first. We then ventured over to the Japan Exhibit, Asian Special Exhibitions and China Exhibit.

The building itself had some amazing architecture. Founded in 1912, it is the largest museum in Canada for world culture and natural history. To see everything in the museum, you would need to dedicate at least one full day to appreciate what is housed here. This is a treasure that Canada should be very proud of.

Our next stop today would be Port Hope.  We made a brief stop in Port Hope, ON so I could get my feet wet in Lake Ontario. This would be the first of the Great Lakes that I would do so. Once we arrived in Port Hope, we noticed that many people were fishing. A lady named Chris who told us that the Salmon were running and today was a good opportunity to catch a few. Next stop, Montreal.
